The 2016 Rio Olympics begins on August 5th. Liberia sends a powerful pair to the Olympics, this year—Emmanuel Matadi and Mariam Kromah. Both runners qualified to compete at the 2016 Olympics and have outstanding track records. Matadi, who will run in the men’s 100 and 200 meters, holds the Liberian record in both events. While Kromah earned her spot on the team after running a record breaking season at the University of Southern Mississippi. She will represent Liberia in the women’s 400 meters.
